There are two
approaches to web development. Some companies do nice looking web
sites that have elegant graphics, Flash animations, and nicely chosen
fonts. Those web sites look nice, but they seldom deliver the information
that’s really needed. They’re like window dressing with
no data substance behind them. The information on those pages is
quickly out of date, and difficult to change.
Other companies create data intensive web sites, driven by data base engines
and hard core programming. Those sites usually deliver the information, and because
those web sites are connected to real data in the organization, the web sites
provide information that is always current. Unfortunately, the data is often
presented on pages that look a lot like an engineer designed them. They work,
but frankly they’re not very attractive, and often they’re not intuitive
and easy to use.
These two approaches to web design are similar to what happens when you build
a house. You get an engineer and an architect and a building firm to design and
build your house. They do the heavy lifting. Then you get a designer to pull
together the furnishings, get the colors right, and make the house a unique home.
That’s what you get with Reflexion. We do both sides of web design. We
can create an attractive site that gets your message across, but we can also
connect it properly to your data sources. We do that because we have people in
our firm with both kinds of experience. Not many firms can do both of those things
well. Give us a call to discuss your web project. |
